I hope that we would understand the fine distinctions here. It is good to write new hymns, but we must adhere to the principle of mainly presenting the truth. Brother Nee was very much against embellishing the hymns, because this does not build up our spirit. Proper tunes for hymns should be neither light nor embellished on the contrary, they should be solemn and weighty. This is evident with the tunes for "Rock of Ages, cleft for me, / Let me hide myself in Thee" (Hymns, #1058) and even for "Many weary years I vainly sought a spring" (#322), which has a little faster tempo. Our hymnal includes almost all the good tunes for hymns. After twenty or thirty years, however, no one is singing the new tunes people prefer the traditional tunes. like when everyone says they wanted to be love but when someone tells them they love them, they freak out and leave the people who told them they love them.After World War II there was a desire in the United States for new things consequently, many new tunes were written for hymns. On a sidenote: I think this song says a lot about people who are having a hard time what to feel or how act when something they thought they wanted is right in front of them.
**** I think this part is knowing and being sad about the fact that the relationship could possibly end (since she's having a hard time making arrangements to herself) but also knowing that the only person who could make you happy is the person who's about to break your heart. **** i think it's about waiting for someone to make a decision whether they'll stay or go. When you're young enough to repay (old enough to stay in a committed, give-and-take relationship) but also young enough sell (young enough to sell out your relationship by taking the easy way out and breaking it off) Asking someone or yourself why is it hard to make arrangements with yourself
