This process is the same as a 'factory reset' and will return the console to its original state - if possible, back up your system dat
If this process fails, you may need to reinstall the system software. Enter the folder and file names in single-byte characters using uppercase letters. If your console does not recognize the update file, check that the USB is in FAT32 format and that the folder and file names are correct. 
PlayStation system software update failed:
Select Reset PS5 (Reinstall System Software). Plug the USB drive containing the file into the PS5 console. There must be approximately 1,2GB of free space. Download the reinstallation file below and save it in the "UPDATE" folder. Press and hold the power button until your console beeps. Perform a New Installation of the System Software: Enter the folder names and file name using uppercase letters. If your PS5 console does not recognize the file, check that the folder names and file name are correct. Select Update from USB Storage Device > OK. Start your PS5 console in Safe Mode: press and hold the power button, releasing after the second beep. Plug the USB drive containing the file into your PS5 console. * There must be approximately 1,1GB of free space. Download the PS5 console update file below and save it in the "UPDATE" folder. Inside that folder, create another folder named "UPDATE". Using a PC or Mac, create a folder named "PS5" on a USB drive formatted as FAT32 or exFAT. You can view the online user's guide in the PS5 console's Settings menu. Playstation should have a small list of games (probably 2 because I understand they need to pay for the rights for the game etc.) But at least we will have some say and if the game we voted for wins, and we don’t actually enjoy it, we don’t have anyone to blame other than ourselves.Upgrading the firmware version on your gaming console might enhance the unit's overall performance and stability, include workarounds for various issues, and improve different features. I feel like it’s sort of a dictatorship and maybe we should have some say in what we get for a game. I had a blast playing that with friends and I enjoyed it because that looked more appealing to me than whatever the other game was. I just think that maybe with all of the money they are making maybe they can mix it up and do more of the voting for the playstation plus game of the month, like they did way back when Broforce, when that was the free game of the month. 
I know some of you might disagree with that statement, but that is my opinion. For example LBP 3, I played for a while before I was like “this is a younger childrens game”. I have basically enjoyed each of the games for about around 30-60 minutes before I find myself saying “What am I doing?” and I think it’s just because they haven’t been “my kind of games”. Recently, the games for PS4 have kind of been… meh, IMHO.
